We talked about what energy levels are now let's talk about shifting them. This skill is like shifting gears in a Ferrari. The faster you can shift the faster you go.
In any given situation we have an emotional response/ reaction. This effects our personal energy level and- believe it or not - the things we bring into our lives.
First step is to identify the energy level in a situation. Do you like this situation? If not you can choose to react at the emotional level you are at or respond with a higher, more productive level.
If you are at level one (victim energy) you will be complaining about how bad things are and how you can't change them. Here's the thing about level one energy; it's like a snowball. When you start thinking about the bad things, it will remind you of more bad things and before you know it, you have a very long laundry list of how terrible your life is at the moment. How does that work for you when you get like that? I'll bet it's pretty dark in that space.
Level 2 is anger. What happens when you get angry? How often do you get the result you want or get your needs met?
What if there were a better outcome that could solve the problem? Stop right now and think about the outcome you would like to have. Now how do you want to get that outcome? What are your options? What energy level would you be operating from for each one? Choose the response that would create the best outcome. Not always easy and as we all know, I still have to work on this.
There are other things you can do to shift your energy too. The key is HAPPY THOUGHTS! Do something that makes you feel good. Your favorite playlist on your iPOD. A hot bubble bath, get someone to tell you a joke. You will find that when you are in a positive frame of mind solutions just appear. What do you do when you discover a workable solution? You do it, right? Then what usually happens? You feel good for solving the problem. Now you've just put the VROOOOM in your life because now you feel even better; more ideas and solutions come to you; then you accomplish even more and then feel even better...
Next thing ya know, you're Snoopy dancing around the house!!!!
