Y'know, Mike Dooley is famous for his quote, "Thoughts become things. Choose the good ones!" Great thought, huh? But what does it mean? How do we go about choosing the good ones? Well, it means that the thoughts you pay the most attention to become your reality. In fact, it's the junk going on in our heads that often keeps us from accomplishing our goals. This stuff has been floating around in there our whole life and many times we don't even know how it got there.
It's time we did a little house cleaning to make room for new more powerful thoughts. Well, how do we even know what we're looking for since these thoughts often appear to be good sound judgements on our part?
There are four kinds of thought patterns that block our success called G.A.I.Ls.
1. G - Gremlin - this is the tape in your head that whispers, "I'm not enough."
2. A - Assumptions - this is where you think that because something has always happened with one outcome in the past that it will continue to do so in the future.
3. I - Interpretation - is the conclusion you draw on an event based on your analysis of the facts.
4. L - Limiting Belief - is where a person in authority says something is true and you make a rule about it in your life.
Now that you're aware of what your looking for, I'll let you start doing a little sorting. Over the course of the next couple of weeks, I'll go into more detail about what each of these kinds of thoughts are so you can decide which should be kept and which needs to be cleared out.
Remember, nature hates a void, so be aware of the things that you bring into the new space you are creating in your head. Make it good things.
